Conventional lipsticks can have some gross and toxic ingredients. In my research I found that one of the LEAST offensive of the ingredients is made from crushed beetles, reddened after eating prickly pear fruit.

This tinted lip balm is made from all natural ingredients in small batches by hand. I use it everyday as both a moisturizing lip balm and soft tint.
